The Band Method brand was born in 2009 in New York City and later expanded its footprint up and down the eastern seaboard. Founded by Andrea Smith and Iakov Kremenskiy, a husband and wife duo, The Band Method is a collective of artist friends - all seasoned musicians and performers with a decade-long presence in the entertainment industry. The concept for the company originated from a spirited conversation about the art of performing "cover songs" and the unique interpretations each musician brings to the music we cherish.
Many of the members of the collective wrote original music, but each artist shared a unique passion for bringing life to songs crafted by others. The Band Method was born out of the need for a creative outlet for these talented musicians and performers. During this time, Andrea landed herself both on Broadway and in a role at a prominent booking agency that gave her extensive experience shaping talent and managing bands. Andrea solidified herself as a powerhouse both on and off stage - she could captivate crowds with her powerful voice and stage presence, while also recognizing and developing other outstanding talent in the industry. Iakov, in the Musical Director role, honed his skills in live sound production, which propelled The Band Method to dive deeper into enhancing the already exceptional sound of their talented musicians.
The Band Method's mission is simple: provide a connection between seasoned professionals and clients who truly appreciate their talent. Andrea's commitment to excellence is evident in her personal involvement in developing and rehearsing each and every singer, musician, and sound engineer at The Band Method. The belief that collaboration is key to a seamless product is evident in this small mom and pop shop: the boutique nature means top-notch quality and a personal touch. The term "projects" is used to describe the bands because, in the spirit of constant flow and creativity, The Band Method is always collaborating, growing, and striving to enhance their product whether it’s exploring new ways to play old tunes or creating memorable mashups that will excite any crowd. The creative juices keep flowing through their various projects, ensuring a dynamic and ever-evolving musical experience.
